Meet Morgan Stamatakis

Building a More Inclusive Future 

At Community Choice Foundation, we value individuals who embody the spirit of “Giving Big”—those dedicated to fostering understanding, inclusion, and meaningful change in their communities. Among this year’s applicants, Morgan Stamatakis stood out as a true champion for neurodiversity, transforming personal experience into a mission for awareness and advocacy. 

For Morgan, inclusion is more than just a belief—it is a way of life. Growing up alongside a sibling with autism, Morgan witnessed firsthand the challenges of navigating environments that lacked understanding and support. From a young age, Morgan embraced the role of advocate, amplifying voices that often go unheard. Participation in a unified basketball team became an extension of this purpose, fostering connections between neurotypical students and peers with disabilities. Through teamwork, encouragement, and social engagement, Morgan helped create an atmosphere where everyone felt valued, seen, and empowered. 

But Morgan’s vision doesn’t stop at the basketball court. Following her studies at the University of Detroit Mercy, she plans to pursue a career in law enforcement and eventually work for the FBI, where she wants to create lasting change in a field where neurodiversity awareness is crucial. Understanding the risks that individuals with ASD face in high-stress situations, Morgan is committed to educating law enforcement professionals on how to recognize, communicate with, and support neurodiverse individuals with compassion. This mission is clear—by bridging the gap between law enforcement and disability advocacy, Morgan aims to foster safer, more understanding interactions that protect vulnerable communities. 

Awarding this scholarship is more than supporting an individual—it is fueling a movement toward acceptance, education, and systemic change. We are proud to invest in Morgan’s future, knowing that these efforts will create lasting impact for generations to come.
