Building a Better Future
At Community Choice Foundation, we admire individuals who pursue their education with determination and a deep sense of purpose. Among this year’s applicants, Michael Stehle from Bay City stood out—not just for his academic drive but for his dedication to hands-on learning and his commitment to building a strong foundation for his future and family.
His path to higher education wasn’t traditional, but that never deterred him. After beginning at a two-year college, he fully committed to transferring to Michigan Tech for continued education, a school that embraces applied learning and real-world experience. For Michael, education isn’t just about lectures—it’s about building practical skills that can be put to use. The opportunity to master his field of engineering through hands-on experience is what drew him to this university.
Beyond academics, Michael’s commitment to his community is evident. From volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in Saginaw, revitalizing homes for families in need, to working with Physicians Feeding Families through Covenant Healthcare, he has provided essential support to those facing food insecurity. His belief in the power of service is clear—small acts of kindness can make an immeasurable difference.
We believe in supporting students who are committed to both their own growth and the betterment of their communities. By awarding Michael this scholarship, we are investing in a scholar who will not only succeed in his field but will continue to uplift those around him.
