A Bright Future in Medicine
Every year, the Community Choice Foundation seeks students who embody perseverance, service, and ambition—individuals whose dedication to education and community inspires us all. This year, we proudly recognize Julianna Gatza from Grass Lake, an outstanding scholar whose journey reflects resilience, passion, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference.
From an early age, Julianna set her sights on a future in orthopedic surgery—a goal she has pursued with steadfast determination. Her drive led her to Western Michigan University, where she will study biomedical science, a field that allows her to explore the broader medical landscape while staying focused on her ultimate ambition.
Beyond academics, Julianna has made a profound impact through service. As a leader in the Jackson Youth Advisory Committee, she played a pivotal role in awarding $30,000 to organizations in need, ensuring vital resources reached those who would benefit most. Her commitment extends even further—she helps organize an annual suicide awareness event, led a coat drive as president of the National Technical Honor Society, and hopes to return home in the future to mentor young students in her hometown.
Julianna’s story is one of perseverance and heart. We are honored to award Julianna this scholarship, knowing that her journey is just beginning.
