Community Choice is giving away $5,000 worth of grants to Michigan teachers

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Michigan had more than 1.3 million students enrolled in a total of 2,959 schools in 539 school districts in 2020. More than 73,000 teachers worked in public schools, with tens of thousands more supporting our youth in charter and private schools. Every single one of our teachers is critical toward preparing our children for their challenges ahead – in school, their careers, and in life.

Community Choice Credit Union believes in the importance of financial education and empowering youth to manage their money. Now, we want to help Michigan teachers do the same!

With that in mind, Community Choice is awarding 10 separate $500 "teacher grants" to K-12 educators that can be used for the purchase of supplies, software, or other tools to help promote financial education in their school or classroom. Teachers throughout the state of Michigan are encouraged to apply NOW.

Applications are open until April 15 and accessible here. The application can be filled out in just minutes. Winners will be announced during the week of April 23. Recipients can attend in-person or remotely at the Community Choice Foundation Scholarship Award Ceremony in May.

If you know a teacher – or 10 – spread the word! These grants are just one small thing Community Choice can do to help support a bright tomorrow for our students, our community and the state of Michigan.

We appreciate the efforts of all teachers as they help our children prepare for the next phases of their lives. Remember, access the application until April 15. Good luck and thank you teachers!
