With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching, we thought it might be fun to take a few minutes and let you in on some of the things we’re grateful for, starting with you!
That’s right, we’re grateful for your loyalty, your patience, your questions, your phone calls, and your smiles. In short, thank you for being you. You give us purpose, and the pride we feel in calling you a “member” of the credit union is why we get up every morning.
We realize that you have many options when it comes to your finances, we’re so happy you have chosen us. We will work hard to keep your loyalty.
Here’s a few other things were grateful for and some exciting new things to look forward to in 2021.
We’re glad you answered and that you stopped by
We’re grateful that we were able to stay in touch with you. From phone calls to our senior members to adjusting our lobby hours so that we could accommodate as many of you as possible, we tried our hardest to make a human connection when you needed it most. We also want to thank you for being patient, wearing a mask, and social distancing. Taking these preventative measures helped keep our team members healthy and safe.
Make sure to use your benefits
We’re grateful that we were able to adjust the way we offer the benefits of our Choice Checking account to make it even easier for you to access your benefits. This was feedback you continually shared, and we happily made the adjustments you asked for. As you shop locally this holiday season, be sure to check for unique coupons and discounts offered by small businesses in your own community!
Happy to help small business owners during the shutdown
We’re grateful that we were able to help so many business owners in need as together we navigated the complex world of Payroll Protection Program loans and the loan forgiveness process. We’ve been keeping up with many of our business owners here in the Community Conversations blog on our website. We hope you’ve enjoyed reading their stories and remember them the next time you’re out shopping or are looking for carry-out options.
Remember to shop safely
We’re very proud of our campaign that reminded you to stay safe while shopping online, and grateful that you’ve followed this advice. Through blogs and additions to our website, we’ve provided tips and developed step-by-step videos to help you. We are committed to informing and educating you with helpful tips every chance we get. More and more people are doing their shopping from the safety of their homes, for many it was a brand-new way to shop, so taking some basic safety precautions is very important.
Are you there? Can you hear me?
We’re especially grateful for Zoom and all the other software products that have enabled us to remain one big, happy team, no matter where we may be working or helping our members. This technology also allowed us to continue our long tradition of charitable giving in a time when most in-person events have been canceled. In October alone, our team members logged around 1,500 volunteer hours during Give Big Month. We were also able to host our annual meeting virtually, and we were happy to see so many smiling faces on the screen. Your opinions matter to us, so keep telling us what you think – whether it’s through a Google review or survey you receive. Speaking of, we’re pretty proud that our average Google rating increased from 4.69 in 2019 to 4.81 following 4,177 positive reviews! This truly demonstrates our steadfast commitment to providing you with the best service experience possible!
Changing scholarship program keeps up with a changing economy
We are grateful to have continued the tradition of awarding $100,000 in scholarships and are thrilled with the success of our 2020 Scholarship program. This past year, we added scholarships for continuing education and for skilled trade education, and it was so successful that we’re doing it again in 2021. Once again, in 2021the Community Choice Foundation will offer 25 scholarships totaling $100,000 to graduating high school seniors, those who wish to continue their education or attain a certification or recertification, and for those who plan a career in skilled trades.
A sneak peek into 2021
Coming in April, a product that makes savings simple
This coming April, we will launch a new savings product that will allow you to see all your savings accounts in one place, which will make it easier for you to achieve the life you desire. You will have the option to set savings goals, and better yet, you can forget about minimum balances and fees. We hope you like it as much as we do.
We wish all our members a Happy Thanksgiving and holiday season.
