Community Choice Credit Union is committed to people helping people
The Community Choice Foundation lives the credit union philosophy of people helping people. Through community grants, scholarships, and volunteerism, the Foundation and Credit Union team members Give Big to our local Michigan communities.
The Community Choice Foundation generously supports numerous Michigan non-profits through its Give Big Grants program. Through the following giving priorities, we identify and support organizations that help strengthen the communities we serve:
Health and Human Services
We are interested in funding work that addresses the physical and mental well-being of children and adults.
Neighborhood Safety/ Community Development
We are interested in supporting organizations who are fighting blight and beautifying their communities.
Help ensure the sustainability of our Give Big Grants program by making a tax deductible donation to the Community Choice Foundation. Your support will allow the Foundation to continue to support non-profits that support important local causes. If you would like to submit a letter of interest for our grants program, please contact the manager at your nearest member center.
"Through the generosity of the Community Choice Foundation, Blessings in a Backpack was the recipient of a grant celebrating the opening of two new member centers, Troy and Wyandotte. The grant money was used to purchase food so twenty-seven additional children were able to receive backpacks of weekend food for the entire year.
Feeding a child is a simple thing that can be taken for granted. But, for the families served by Blessings in a Backpack, a year’s backpacks of food can be life-changing."
- Cheryl Whitton, Michigan Advisor for Blessings in a Backpack
Community Choice Credit Union lives a Give Big culture. Throughout the year, team members volunteer in their local communities and support organizations such as Gleaners’ Food Bank, the American Red Cross, Vista Maria Women’s Shelter, Forgotten Harvest and The Miracle League of Michigan. As good stewards of our local communities, team members enjoy giving big.
"Giving Big isn’t just showing up and punching a time clock either at work or as a volunteer, but being fully engaged in what I am there to do and doing it to the best of my ability! It is going beyond the stated request and giving more than is expected."
- Kim Clemence, Personal Advisor Specialist
"Being a Community Choice Scholar meant I was able to be supported in college, in my education and in the community service end of what I was wanting to do."
- Amy Afonso, 2010 Community Choice Scholar
