Community Choice Credit Union recorded our highest year of volunteer service in 2025, contributing 13,359 hours of service to nonprofit organizations and community initiatives across Michigan.
This milestone reflects the collective impact of our mission to Give Big, which brings our members and team members together to support communities statewide through coordinated service and partnership throughout the year.

“At Community Choice Credit Union, giving back is at the heart of who we are,” says Kelsey Royer, Volunteer Coordinator at Community Choice Credit Union. “Our team members and members’ commitment to serving have proven that when we Give Big, even small acts can create lasting impact.”

A year of giving big across Michigan
From Detroit to Muskegon and Jackson to Holland, Community Choice volunteers supported 145 nonprofit partners to address critical needs like food insecurity, housing, education, and community health.
September is always an especially active time, because we’ve designated it Give Big Month, with specific goals and focus on volunteer activities. In September alone, 2,025 volunteer hours across 48 initiatives were completed. Volunteers built accessibility ramps, assembled food packages for families, and constructed beds for children in need.
Demonstrating our year-round commitment to Giving Big, volunteer contributions in 2025 encompassed many additional initiatives, including:

Give Big, Give Blood
Blood drives supported hospitals and emergency responders statewide, with donations estimated to help save over 1,000 lives.

Lace Up Shoe Drive
Volunteers collected 1,059 pairs of shoes for redistribution while diverting usable footwear from landfills and raising funds for future community programs.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
Teams built 100 beds and donated 63 bedding items to Sleep in Heavenly Peace to help ensure safe sleeping environments for children.

Hygiene Kits
1,000 hygiene kits were assembled and distributed to five nonprofit partners by our team members during the annual Team Enrichment Day program. The nonprofits were: HAVEN Oakland, WAVE Project, Kent School Services Network, AWARE, Inc., and the West Michigan Veteran Assistance Program.

PJs & Pages Drive
Volunteers donated more than 1,000 pairs of pajamas and children’s books to support literacy and family routines.
