Frequently Asked Questions
Does this indicate there are financial challenges at Community Choice?
No. Community Choice Credit Union remains a strong, safe, and sound financial institution. In fact, we are committed to reinvesting in a new member give back program that helps us deliver on making banking easy while increasing the value of your membership.
How much did Community Choice members earn with GetBigReward$?
Since the program’s inception in 2013, GetBigReward$ has returned more than $31 million to members in the form of account credits and loan interest rebates. We are proud of the success we have shared with our qualifying member owners through the program and look forward to designing a program that even more members will participate in.
When will a new member give back program be available?
We are taking 2025 to research new member loyalty programs. We look forward to communicating with you once it takes shape. In the meantime, we are continuing to offer and expand upon our member referral program and other product benefits. In fact, you can earn more than an entire year of GetBigReward$ credits by referring just three friends or family members to Community Choice.
What will happen to the Loan Interest Rebate?
Existing qualifying loans will be grandfathered into the Loan Interest Rebate program for up to two years from the close of GetBigReward$. These loans, when meeting the same eligibility requirements as today, will qualify to receive the Loan Interest Rebate in 2025. You will be kept informed of your eligibility and future interest rebate payments.
Will my loan still qualify for an interest rebate if I refinance?
The Loan Interest Rebate will not apply to a loan that is refinanced after December 31, 2024. We know there are many factors that go into deciding whether to refinance a loan, our team members can help you determine if your interest and payment savings is a higher value than the potential loan interest rebate.

How much do I save by being a credit union member?
Community Choice has also consistently reduced member fees as we have grown and prospered. For example, we don’t charge for credit card balance transfers or international transactions on credit cards – and we offer members free coin processing up to $250 per month, saving you the 12.9% fee charged by other popular coin processing services.
We estimate our members have saved $3.8 Million in overdraft fees in the last 2 years as a result of our 10/10/10 program:
- We automatically waive the $30 overdraft fee when the transaction is less than $10
- We automatically waive the $30 overdraft fee when your account is taken negative by less than $10
- We only charge $10 for non-sufficient funds transactions (NSF) compared to $35 at most banks and credit unions
Better yet, there is no need to call us to get these benefits, we’ve got your back and take care of it automatically.
