On October 15, credit unions around the world will celebrate International Credit Union Day. With the first credit unions established in Germany in the 1850s and 60s, our industry celebrates more than 160 years of accomplishments. It is a day to reflect on the role credit unions play in the lives of their member-owners, and when we sincerely thank you for entrusting you with your finances.
This year’s theme is “Inspiring Hope for a Global Community.”
And this theme certainly comes at a perfect time, as the world comes together to protect the vulnerable and provide hope to all its citizens.
It also seems like a good time to reaffirm our commitment to our members: Our decisions and financial practices are made with you, and only you, in mind.
We ask ourselves, “Will this product or service help you achieve the life you desire?”
If the answer is unequivocally, “yes,” we go to work to make it a reality. That is our promise. You are our owners; we have no stockholders to please.
This is also an excellent time to reflect upon our core values − Committed, Charitable, Credible, and United – and how they guide the culture of Community Choice.
We are committed to both our membership and the team members who represent Community Choice. Through this commitment, we are able to offer elite products and services and deliver an unmatched member experience.
We promise to continually look for ways to give back to our community through charitable donations and volunteerism.
We will remain credible and transparent when it comes to our financial decision-making.
As a united team of personal advisors, support team members, leaders, and financial specialists, we know that together we are far more valuable to our membership than we are individually.
On October 15, we will reach out to our membership and our communities. We’re partnering with Detroit Mini Donut to pay it forward by providing fresh donuts and cider to patients, visitors and the frontline workers at the following locations:
Children's Hospital of Michigan (Detroit) - 7:00 a.m. (while supplies last)
Children's Hospital of Michigan (Troy) - 11:00 a.m. (while supplies last)
It’s our treat, and just one way we continue to inspire hope in communities across the state.
Again, thank you for your membership and for allowing us to help you achieve the life you desire.
