The Beatles probably said it best: “I get by with a little help from my friends.”
In that spirit, your friends at Community Choice want to offer you a little help.
We have recently launched a program called Community U. It is uniquely designed to provide information and resources to help you navigate some of life’s biggest financial decisions.
We’re proud and excited to announce that our first Community U initiative, Skills to Succeed, is all about helping those in search of new career opportunities.
We chose to create this program in response to the growing number of hard-working Michigan residents who have either lost their jobs or had their hours reduced when businesses were ordered to close in March, along with a range of other unexpected obstacles people are tackling this year. The entire labor force − from experienced professionals to part-time workers and recent college and high school grads − have been affected, and it doesn’t appear to be a brief interruption.
Skills to Succeed is open to all; having an account is not required. The program will offer complimentary courses via Zoom, you can participate in as many as you like! You’ll receive training and information that will help you stand out from the crowd and nail your next interview with confidence.
The program will cover:
- Social media best practices
- A complimentary, professional headshot by a local photographer
- Access to videos that will help you set up a LinkedIn page
- Easy-to-follow resume and cover letter templates
- Complimentary resume review
- Interview coaching, what to wear, questions to ask during the interview, best practices for follow-up, and so much more!
