Each month\, seniors receive a box of nonperishable foods and volunteers are the ones who make it happen! \nWhat You’ll Be Doing \nWork in groups of up to 30 per assembly line\nCut stock and pack canned foods into boxes as they roll down the line\nUnwrap/unbox pallets\, collapse boxes for recycling\, and handle plastic waste\nExpect moderate activity (bending\, lifting\, moving items)\nA full volunteer line can pack 500+ boxes in one shift! \nDress Code \nWear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes\nLayers are recommended (warehouse temps fluctuate)\nNo sleeveless shirts\, short shorts\, or midriff tops\nBring work gloves if you have them\nKeep valuables at home\, in your car\, or on your person \nSafety Guidelines \nPlease stay home if you’re not feeling well or have had a recent COVID-19 exposure\nMasks are strongly encouraged inside the building\nHandwashing and sanitizer stations available \nAge Requirement \nMust be 13+ to participate\nMinors must be accompanied by a guardian who can sign a printed waiver on-site \nLocation & Parking \nFocus: HOPE\, 1400 Oakman Boulevard\, Detroit MI 48238 \nParking: Across the street in the gated lot (entrance on La Salle Blvd. at Oakman). \nDo not park in the Early Learning Center lot or between buildings. \nSign up here\n
